Educating the Future

We all put our trust in teachers. They accomplish one of the most important tasks we have as human beings: educating our children. Despite the difficulty and importance of this profession, teachers are unacceptably underpaid in many parts of the world.

At private schools in rural Bihar, salaries may be as little as $28 USD per month. In addition, the infrequent flow of individual donations means that schools must sometimes defer payroll until sufficient funds can be raised.

This means that teachers must struggle to make ends meet on savings alone while working full time.

Teachers deserve financial stability, too.

At schools across Bihar, teachers have continued to work when the schools were forced to defer their salaries due to a lack of funding. Because these teachers believe so strongly in the important work that they do, we believe they deserve better.

Our Promise:

BE Change funds help private schools meet payroll for teachers at current salary levels. This means teachers can worry less about paying their monthly bills and more about how to effectively educate the students who need their attention most.

BE Change funds also help private schools increase teacher salaries to competitive levels. This incentivizes teachers to remain at these schools and build long-term relationships with their students. In the long term, it will also bring more qualified educators to work in the sometimes difficult rural environment in which these schools are located. Your donations make this a possibility.
